Well at least the interior doesn’t have 2 screen stacked on top of each other any more.
Its just like ... not attractive.

I know it’s not a liftback, but I see a lot of BMW GT in there. Not a fan of the lines.

If Kinja let me post pics, I’d post that Home Alone Buzz’s girlfriend meme.
Woof.

Looks-wise? Still a step backwards. It peaked a few years ago:
(Yes, I know the coupe is better looking across the board. Just look at the grill though. Way worse now.)
And practically? I can already tell that sloping rear window is going to be far worse for visibility. That would be fine with me, but the practical consumer might not be willing to trade that for a sleeker roofline. See also: Mazda 6 (but that’s worth the trade-off)

Just make it a 4 dr hatch back already.

I did appreciate during the press conference they made it clear there is still a physical volume and tuning knob!
I do hate the stupid button gear selector though.

Since I just red the Jalop article...GUYS GUYS. Manual Trans available - not just in the base! Civic R engine available..with stick! This is good news!
I’m thinking of the 17 yr. old who is going to buy their first car years from now and they’ll find a nice deal on a 10-12 yr old Accord. Their parents will approve because #reliability and the manual trans will live to be learned by another generation!

I’m really dissapointed there isn’t a lift back version. Totally has the look for it.

Meh, not as ugly as the Civic, though that is hard to beat, but still on the bland to slightly off side. 10/10 wouldn’t buy. My old Accord had a somewhat bland styling but the proportions and lines worked well. This is just a mess. And what is with Honda and that monobrow lately?

I’m getting a lot of Subaru Legacy from that rear, but Honda Clarity elsewhere. Not bad.

4 doors, turbo 2.0L, manual transmission. I’m in.

As the owner of a 2013 V6 accord coupe, I definitely agree. It’s very well styled while not being stupidly over the top. So many of these new cars are stupidly over designed to look like they’re 20 years newer than they are.
I know they added 2" of rear legroom at least. I’m guessing rear visibility isn’t as important anymore since it’ll have backup camera, parking sensors, lanewatch, and a bunch of other nannies standard. Which probably isn’t the best thing but... It’s the direction everything is going

I am very excited for the turbo 4. I do love turbos.

But the V6 is gone :(

Maybe it’ll help the value of my 2013 V6? Please.

From that side/rear view:
And also a hint of Sonata and Legacy.
From the front, somehow both bland and blech.

They seem to be recycling the same wheel design over and over and over again. I’ve seen that wheel on both Acura and Honda.

I think they tried to copy the Volvo S90 but they failed - so it looks more like a Rover 800 with badly creased trousers.

Their obsession with putting the grille on upside-down on their cars still baffles me.
It’s been over 10 years since I liked a Honda/Acura grille, not just tolerated, but actually liked.

I...hate how it looks a little bit less than the Civic?
The front end is ok, with the headlights being wider and not as tall.
The fastback-ish proportions work better on the larger Accord than smushed into the Civic. But the angle of the D-pillar flowing into the trunk looks kind of droopy from the front 3/4 view.
The stupid chrome accent that follows the theme established by the Civic but doesn’t even try to follow the shape of the windows is the worst part by far.
Overall it reminds me of a Chevy Impala but with stupid-ass chrome window trim and a robot face.

Worse than the pre-facelift 9th gen, better than the facelifted 9th gen.

I kind of like it. Looks more upscale than the outgoing model to me.
And I like the wheels too. I suspect they will be a widely stolen commodity, like the current Accord sport wheels.
But, get rid of the chrome strip and the chrome eyebrow. Maybe that body color and it would look better, IMHO.
And, while I’m nitpicking, back to the wheels. I hate large wheels. Unless this thing has some massive brakes, there’s no reason the wheels need to be this big where it has to roll on what look like 40 series tires. I like ride quality and not feeling my spine compress when I hit a bump in the road.

Thing I like: The strong, constant upper body-line connecting the top of the headlights to the front of the taillights.
Things I don’t like: Pretty much everything else. Too many “details” in the form of lines that start/stop/curve randomly. Specifically, the crease at the bottom of the door, the rear window design, and that chrome (black?) trim on the bottom of the car.

Dunno why but I really dig the new Accord. Thankfully Honda didn’t choose the faux liftback route. I’m probably in the minority haha.
Edit: they did follow that route but it looks good to me.

The overall shape isn’t bad, but they just went crazy with putting stling elemnts and lines onto it, as is the trend these days. Would not buy, especially now that it’s 4cyl only.

I don’t give a shit what it looks like (but I don’t hate it like others seem to). It has the size/drivetrain I’ve been waiting for. I’m seriously, seriously thinking about getting one. By the time they are widely available, I’ll be close to 100k on my Forester and shopping anyway.

Every single recent Honda review I’ve read has whined about the touch volume controls that they started rolling out a few years ago including a 40k long-term test where they said they never quite got used to it. Glad to see they are listening. I normally use steering wheel buttons, but a knob is awesome when you need to quickly grab and go way up/down with the volume.

Besides a few gimmicky touches here and there, I like it. A lot. Way, way better than the new Camry, the interior looks miles better than the old one with the dumb double touch screens, and it has a turbo with stick. I kind of really want one. Welcome back, Honda.

I will say... Kinda like it. But the true fact is does it really matter if we like it or not? It’s a Honda Accord. It’s going to sell anyway. The Accord has always sold and will always sell. It could be literally a pile of stinking shit but someone one is still getting one as a graduation gift and you know it.

It looks dated already. Way too many nonsensical creases, tail lights straight off of a 2000s Hyundai Azera, ugly grille and headlights, and they managed to make a fastback look more bloated than a sedan.

Hmm I actually think this looks nice.
